| News: “This is an important reminder for upcoming seniors. Fall college drop-in registration is ongoing this week and will continue through July 16th for COL students and by appointment after that. Please refer to the calendar that was sent by mail recently outlining the times and dates available for drop-in registration at the COL guidance office. I will be out of the office next week, June 21-28 and around the 4th of July holiday so please use the calendar to plan accordingly as registration will only be available during the specified times and dates on the calendar. Copies of the calendar are available in modular #4 during regular office hours if you need another copy and also available on the COL website under the Upcoming Events section on the homepage. Registration is on a drop-in, first come, first serve basis and it is helpful if students come with course requests to speed the process for all students. We look forward to seeing you in the next few weeks to plan for your upcoming senior year. Have a great summer!” |

To be honest I didn't get to complete the whole of the first part of the book and I was unsure if I should still post a message, but her goes. So far I think the book is really interesting. In a way I feel that the main character is naive. He has never met Del before but he seems to have no issue with staying in the same house as him. That seems to make no sense to me.
Who would do that? I also found that the book started off very well. It grabbed my attention from the beginning. |

When I first started the book I have to say that I wasn't really interested in it. I was confused and wondering what the point was. As I started reading though, the story really started to pick up an I get more invested in the story. There was one thing that I really liked about the beginning of the story though, and that was the was the train was described when I first started moving.

Welcome to the COL Summer Reading Initiative, this summer we are reading As Easy As Falling Off The face Of The Earth. This is a fun book about the misadventures of a young man making his way across the county.
We will be posting, weekly, on what we liked and did not like about the readings. I would like to see a discussion progress about the different viewpoints of the book. You can post any day you want, just try to post no later than Friday of each week. Please respond to others posts so we can exchange thoughts and ideas with each other. The book is divided into four parts, so we will post at the end of each section as follows: Part 1 up to page 101 - June 18 Part 2 up to page 173 - June 25 Part 3 up to page 261 - July 2 Part 4 to the end of book - July 9 Please fell free to read ahead and post early, but please go back on the due dates so you can comment on the other posts. Once we have all finished reading the book, we can get together and discuss it you you want to, we can make a plan later in the summer. Enjoy the book and please feel free to email me at Psullivan@polk.edu with any questions. Ms.Sullivan |

We need to start a fundraiser so that she will never be forgotten no matter how much time passes. We should get a basket in modular 8 and people can just put money in it so that we can be sure to never forget our fallen friend.
Sincerely, Anthony Harrell |
